A BIG SHOUT OUT to our three teams of students from 4th and 5th grade who participated in the Minecraft Battle of the Boroughs Manhattan Challenge held Saturday May 20th, at the High School for Math, Science and Engineering at City College.
Team 1: Isaac, Andreia, Dimitry, and Joelvis
Team 2: Nyla, Nayreli, Jesus, and Stefania
Team 3: Shirley, Nathali, Zoe, and Jeriel
In the morning our teams competed in the Round 2 challenges against other Manhattan schools. Students were given team planning time, building time, and then had to present their build. Congratulations to Team 2: Nyla, Nayreli, Jesus, and Stefania, who won the challenge in their Round 2 group and moved onto the semi-finals in the afternoon. There were five teams in the semifinals from schools all over Manhattan, competing to be the Manhattan Jr Champions. Team 2 did not win the semifinals, but they did a great job and can be proud of what they achieved.
Congratulations to the team from PS111 Adolph S Ochs school in becoming the Jr Team Champions for Manhattan. They will compete in the finals, The Mayor’s Cup All Boroughs Challenge, to be held June 10th on the Intrepid Museum. Wow!
It was such a valuable learning experience for all the students, and they had a lot of fun at the same time. Big thank you to all our student teams for all their great work on Saturday. Thanks also to Ms. Thams and Ms.Pichardo for supporting the students throughout the day!
Lastly, we want to especially give a shout out to our parents who got our students to and from the challenge, and to those who supported us on the day as well. Thank you!

Here are some photos of our students and staff who participated in Decades Day, on Friday. We were time traveling through the decades all day long!
