Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week! In addition to the yummy and thoughtful daily tokens of appreciation from our school administrators, students made "Thank You" gifts for their teachers with the help of their Art and Library teachers. Everyone's smiles say it all -- we are a PS 115 family, and we love and appreciate our teachers! Here are photos of our grades 4-5 classes, presenting their teachers with one of their gifts.

A couple of Saturdays ago, two teams from PS115 (3rd graders and 5th graders) competed against other schools in round two in the Manhattan semi-finals of the NYC Schools Minecraft Battle of the Boroughs. Though they didn't advance to the next round, they did a fantastic job showing off their building and coding skills in Minecraft. And we had a lot of fun!

March's "School Spirit" Day is Inside-Out Day! On Friday, March 28th, come dressed in the colors of your favorite emotions or characters from the film "Inside Out." And feel free to wear more than one color! All of our different emotions are important parts of who we are.

Grade 3-5 students in the PS 115 baseball program had a blast last Saturday! Team members from the Chaminade High School Varsity Baseball Team, from Long Island, came to our school and hosted a baseball clinic. Our students had the chance to do some training, catching, throwing, and batting, and had a great time doing it. We are so grateful to the Chaminade team for their visit and time!

Last week, PS 115 and its 2nd grade classes welcomed author Kaija Langley for an inspiring visit! She read us her award-winning book, "When Langston Dances," and students got to ask her questions about the book and about being an author. Each student also got to take home a signed copy of the book! Thank you Kaija Langley, and Lambda Literary's Writers in Schools program, for making the visit possible!

As the month of Ramadan begins, we at P.S. 115 extend our best wishes to all those observing. Ramadan Mubarak!
